Local. National. International.

It is our desire and delight at Mount Zion to take the Great Commission seriously locally, nationally, and internationally. With that in mind, we aim to come along side like-minded disciple-makers across the globe to support, encourage and serve with them. Below you will find the people and organizations that we do that with.

Magnet School

Ongata Rongai, Kenya

For the past 2 years Mount Zion Baptist has partnered with Magnet School and Orphanage, which is located in Kenya about 10 miles southwest of the capital city of Nairobi. The school provides junior and secondary education for orphans and poor children in the Nairobi area. The school consists of classrooms, a kitchen, boys and girls dormitories, and basic accommodation for staff. In 2001 the magnet school was founded to serve orphans and other children who have no access to education due to their poverty. The school has 360 children enrolled between 4 and 18 years of age. Most students rely on charitable donations to pay for their tuition as well as their room and board fees. Its costs approximately $500 a year to board and educate a student at the school. In addition, the school has a preschool program for very young orphans that depend on the older students to assist in their care.

Magnet school is a family. Bishop Jeremiah Kibobi, his wife Susan, and the school’s staff have a deep sense of commitment, community and love for the students and their well being.
