At Mount Zion Baptist Church our purpose is to glorify God, our vision is Christ, our mission is to make disciples, and our goal is to reach our neighbors and all nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you'd like to know more information about our church feel free to email us at email@example.com
Our driving passion must be to exhalt and glorify Christ. The apostle Paul was a great example for us. He stated, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death" (Philippians 3:10). What Paul wanted more than anything else was to know and be more like Christ! He summed it up best when he said, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). We too want our lives to be so identified with Christ that God rightly gets all the glory. We can only worship Him in spirit and in truth if He is the absolute center of our worship.
"Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
This is not a mission that we made up, but what is command of us in Scripture. Jesus tells us that He has been given all authority by the Father and that we are to "Go therefore and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19). Making disciples is not a quick and easy process, but can be summed up in us living for the glory of God in others.
"but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love."
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8. With this command we see that we are commanded to go locally, nationally, and internationally to share the Gospel of Christ.
